Does CBD Oil Help with Sleeping?

CBD Oil Help with Sleeping

The research on the effects of CBD oil on sleep disorders is still in its early stages. Let’s see does CBD oil help with sleeping.

Some people who use CBD for chronic pain say it helps them sleep better. It’s unclear whether these people sleep better due to the pain reduction or because CBD has a direct influence on sleep.

Other preliminary research on buy weed online CBD and sleep issues has yielded promising results.

However, not everyone benefits from CBD use similarly, and different dosages may have other effects. Low amounts of CBD are energizing, whereas high levels of CBD are sedating, according to research.

However, to determine whether CBD oil can improve sleep, we must first understand what causes poor sleep.

CBD oil is widely used to treat Insomnia and other sleep disorders, including physical pain and anxiety, according to the Mayo Clinic. It has shown potential in treating pain and anxiety, so it’s not surprising that it could help individuals sleep better.

What did the research say about CBD oil for sleep?

Anxiety and Depression

While anxiety is not a sleep disorder, it can contribute to poor sleep quality and insufficient sleep. CBD can be used to treat anxiety-related conditions because it calms the nervous system.

According to one study, nearly 80% of participants who used CBD to treat their anxiety reported lower anxiety levels within a month. Moreover, 65% of individuals reported increased sleep at first, although the outcomes were inconsistent.

Insomnia

People who have Insomnia have difficulty falling or staying asleep at night. People who have a history of poor sleep may experience anxiety about getting enough sleep, leading to more sleeplessness at night.

It is speculated that CBD oil may also help reduce the anxiety associated with Insomnia. A new pilot study of CBD and THC use in humans with doctor-diagnosed Insomnia is also underway. The study’s findings will provide further information about CBD’s impact on Insomnia.

Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) disorder

Excessive daytime sleepiness disorder makes it challenging to stay awake during regular daytime hours.

CBD may be one solution for getting up on time and staying awake. CBD has been shown in animal studies to function as a wake-inducing drug.

Other studies, however, suggest that CBD acts as a sedative. More research is needed to see how different CBD doses and methods affect wakefulness and sleepiness.

REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder

During the rapid eye movement (REM) stage of sleep, patients with REM sleep behaviour disorder verbalise and make aggressive movements.

The condition is most common in elderly patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

CBD oil helped manage REM sleep behaviour disorder symptoms in a small study of four Parkinson’s disease patients.

Before starting CBD, the patients had disorder symptoms 2–7 times per week.

The symptoms appeared 0–1 times per week after taking CBD. More research is needed, but these initial findings point to CBD as a potential treatment for REM sleep behaviour disorder.

To summarise, if your sleeping problems are caused by anxiety or pain, CBD may provide relief from your symptoms, allowing you to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

As with many other natural sleep aids, more research is needed to determine which types of sleep disorders may benefit the most.
